1n09 to southfork

Watched the sun come up by the dam. Left the house at 4:30. i wanted to leave abit earlier but things happen.


Some loose climbs on this ride.
It does get worse, plus the nats
But the views of my day were spectactular.
15-mile climb from my house to 1n09
Now i must make my way across the Valley. 15-miles to Seven Oaks road. Lots of ups and downs on this one.
Keller Cliffs is an awesome spectical.
21-miles into my ride and i'm still smileing. Good Day no matter what the outcome.

Remote camping close to Seven Oaks. i filtered water here, might be a good place to camp someday.

Todays plan was to leave early ride 6-8 hours and camp. it took me 6-hours to get to the Southfork campground and they had a couple of spots left. Iwas like cool this will work. The only problem was that it was cash only and i brought 5-dollars and a credit card with me. DOPE!! so, i heaed back to Angelus Oaks hoping to get some cash back but , the store was pemanetly closed. i should have tried to pedal to Big Bear which was my 2nd choice this morning. But when i got to the Radford Rd. cut off my legs said no way jose! so i continued to Southfork. i would have sleep in a turn out along 1n45 but i promised the wifey i would sleep in a "campground". So i could have tried to climb over Onex on the road but i decided to pull thr plug and take all in as a learning experience and i good fully loaded training ride. 72-miles, 8hrs.4-min I'll try again next weekend

NO RIDE TODAY

Woke up around 10:30 this morning tired so i decided to prep for my over nighter this weekend. Wish i didn't make my dentist appt. for tomorrow so i could get a ride in before suffering on friday and saturday but i gotta be responcible and take care of my teeth. Hope it doesn't cost to much and hope there is nothing mager. just going for a check up and cleaning.
The plan this weekend which starts on FRIDAY (!!!!) is to ride 1n09 to seven oaks and find a place to sleep for the night. if nothing there i'm headed to South Fork and if that is full well, there is this spot on 1n48 that i really like (;-D). The wifey would perfer me to be sleeping in a campground, hope there is something, if not that spot on 1n48 is stuck in my head.
If all goes as planned i'll be climbing Radford Rd. very early and breakfast in BIg Bear( YUmm) not sure which way i'll be making my way home maybe dirt, maybe hwy...Vz out!

i've been riding......

just not blogging. no ride this weekend thou. lazy dayz with the wifey. But today i headed out to the Greenspot wash. once at the bridge i headed back and did 5-miles of Government at a time trail pace. 21-miles 1-1/2 hrs pedaling. it was HOt but not as bad as last week. should start to cool abit. hope i can get out tomorrow.
